digitalis silver

Nice review for "Cerro Rico" from the always excellent foxy digitalis.

"An utterly fascinating piece of sound collage from Zak Boerger, this tape is superb.  On the surface, it’s a single 30-minute piece (repeated on side B, a very good move on the label’s part) comprised of random field recordings, odd sounds, old band recordings, and new guitar-based work...  There’s a certain hallucinatory quality to the order of events, the odd pairings, and the sudden juxtapositions that makes the listening experience just slightly off-kilter in the best way possible.  Yet Boerger never goes over the top with his approach, and it’s his restraint with pulling off this concept that makes it so effective."
